Public Enemy (Muli-Color) - Signed Print + 1 of 1 NFT

We've gotta fight the power that be. Public Enemy was some of the first music I really listened to when I started my journey as a Hip Hop fan. I liked how unique they were in their sound and how they were speaking revolutionary talk. They had a powerful crew... Security of the First World (SW1), and you could hear it in their music.

I loved watching their music videos on MTV Flavor Flav with the clock bringing the energy, Chuck D coming in with the deep knowledge and rhymes, Professor Griff is one of the OG professors whom I get my DJ and Artist name, Professor Moses. The whole crew was dope and made a lasting effect on me as I got older and continued to listen to their music.

When I was in college, Chuck D was on a tour and he visited my school dropping all types of knowledge about the Hip Hop industry, the music industry, and much more... we ended up having a conversation while he was on the stage back and forth. I asked him what he thought about the current drug laws since so many people use and sell drugs in this country. His answer to my question still sits with me today... he asked me if I had a passport. Then he proceeded to educate me on how the prison system works and when you have a felony in this country, in many states you cannot get a passport. This means you cannot leave the country. He was telling me all of this in the answer to the question about legalizing drugs, as he explained at the end of our conversation, that the industrial prison system and everything that supports it is simply too large of an economic force. He said the system will have to find something that can replace it or the country will lose too much money.

If you sit and think about that last paragraph you will have a small piece of why I love Public Enemy.
