I remembered hearing that Kanye was dropping his own CD. There was a lot of buzz around it because the streets knew how dope of a producer Kanye was. We were all wondering... WTF is this whole album gonna sound like. If it's anything close to the beats we've been hearing his production for Hov, this shit is going to be amazing. And he did not disappoint. College Dropout was so an incredible CD and so timely for me. I went off to college during the Fall of 01'. I remember being at school at UW-Stout and Chuck D from Public Enemy talked about how he had a conversation with Kanye About calling his album College dropout and how maybe that wasn't the best message to send to the black youth. This is interesting because if you follow the rest of his albums, it seems like he listed... Late Registration and Graduation. Nice job cleaning that up. 

Kanye has gone on to become way more than a producer or a rapper. The man is one of the first Black billionaires in the country. One of the first black billionaires to come from the Hip Hop community. The way that Kanye has created wealth for himself and his family is simply amazing. It has not come with the ups and downs, but he has done nearly the impossible. From winning Grammys to designing for Nike and Louis Vuitton to then launching the Yeezy brand, Kanye has put a large mark on the world in my opinion for the better. His music makes this world a more dope place to live in. When I listen to his music, it's inspirational. He represents many of the black superheroes that have come out of the Hip Hop space. You don't have to understand it... but you can't help but respect what he's built.
